Distribution Transformers
Distribution transformers are devices used for medium-voltage (MV) to low-voltage (LV) conversion in distribution networks. They are manufactured using three main types:
- Expansion Tank Type: Uses an oil expansion tank for cooling and insulation, commonly employs ONAN cooling models.
- Hermetically Sealed Type: Fully sealed and maintenance-free, also typically uses ONAN cooling.
- Dry Type: Air-cooled with fan-assisted models, ideal for indoor and fire-sensitive applications.
Voltage levels range from 2 kV to 40.5 kV, with capacities commonly between 25 kVA and 2,500 kVA, though custom sizes are also possible. Conductors can be aluminum or copper, tailored to specific loss requirements.
